Quick Tutorial - How to make Pom Pom Ice cream cones!
So we have been getting a bit over excited about summer recently. (Its here, and it it doesn't seem to be going anywhere!....I hope I didn't jinx it)
I know, I know. It's hot out and nobody wants to be sat on the sofa painstakingly stitching this time of year. But craft is for life guys! Not just for rainy day's!
That's why we though we would come up with a bunch of quick and easy summer craft ideas, so you can keep flexing those creative muscles all summer long. First up...These adorable pom pom ice creams! Pom Poms and ice cream you say? Why it's a match made in heaven!
Here's what you will need....
Premade or handmade pom poms
If you want to try and make a pom pom by hand and don't know how, check out the tutorial here
First up, you're going to need some kraft paper or card and a nice pen. My pen smells of play dough, but that's irrelevant.
I used an A6 kraft envelope, but you can pretty much use any paper or card you have to hand. Cut one of the corners into a wedge shape as pictured and decorate with a cone pattern (or leave plain if you wish)
Next you want to bend your wedge into a cone shape by joining the two sides with a dab of superglue. Don't be a dunce and forget that superglue is sticky while you press the sides together. My thumb is wearing a little dunce cap and it REALLY hurt trying to rip it off.
Now simply put a dab of superglue around the inside rim of the cone and pop your pom pom in the top! How easy is that!
We'd love so see how you get on, so don't forget to share your results to @makerlycrafts or #makerlycrafts :)
