We want to make sure your gift giving goes smoothly, so please read these FAQ's before purchasing a Makerly Gift Subscription as a Christmas gift.



If your order is placed 10 days before the end of the month we will aim to ship within 3 working days of the order being placed.  For those orders placed in the last 10 days of the month, the order will be dispatched on the 3rd (or first working day after) of the following month.

Alternatively, if you have ordered in the run up to Christmas but you would prefer for your recipient to start receiving boxes in January, you can drop us an email at to let us know and we will suspend their subscription until the new year.

Christmas is a very busy and unpredictable time and, as we work several boxes in advance, we cannot guarantee that we will have enough new release boxes for all customers.  In this situation your recipient will receive one of our past boxes from the previous year (we will check for past subscribers to make sure we aren't sending out boxes they have already received).

Where will their box be shipped?

We will ship their first box to whatever address you enter as the "shipping address" at checkout. 


Many buyers like to receive the first box so that they can gift it in person. If this is your preference, all you need to do is enter YOUR OWN address to begin with, then change it to your recipient's address BEFORE the 1st of January, so that their subsequent boxes are sent straight to them.


When will their box be shipped?

Any order placed before the 21st of December will be shipped within 3 days via Hermes, or Royal Mail International Economy for overseas orders.  Orders placed after the 21st will be sent on the 3rd of January.

We cannot guarantee how long our boxes will take to get to you however, so please place orders in plenty of time if you would like your recipient to get a physical box to open.

My box hasn't arrived, what do I do?

Boxes can take much longer to reach their destination over the Christmas period however if your box doesn't arrive and you are concerned, simply get in touch with us via email and we will check the Hermes tracking and give you an update.  Any 'lost' boxes will be resent.


Please also be aware that most of our boxes are bigger than your letterbox, so keep an eye out from a delivery attempted slip from Hermes as it may have made it's way to your shed/garden/neighbour's/bin (yes, it has happened).

Is it suitable for kids?

Our kits are designed purely with adults in mind so may contain sharp tools or pattern/designs that children would find challenging.
